StarTrac 5300 Bike Low Batt Error

Probable Cause

A) Faulty lower control board.
B) Bad battery.

Corrective Action

A) Check the battery voltage.  Access SYSTEM MEASUREMENTS mode by pressing and holding ENTER, 0, and 2 keys.  Continue holding ENTER and 0 keys while releasing the 2.  The unit will beep once and SERVICE SETTINGS will appear on the display.  Release the ENTER and 0 keys.  Press the 8 key.  The message MEASUREMENTS will display.  Use the SCROLL key to select battery voltage.  This offers a battery voltage reading from an idle state.  Verify that the battery voltage is between 6 -7 VDC.  If the voltage is greater than 7 VDC, replace the lower control board.

B) Check the battery voltage.  If the display will allow, access SYSTEM MEASURMENTS mode by pressing and holding ENTER, 0, and 2 keys.  Continue holding ENTER and 0 keys while releasing the 2.  The unit will beep once and SERVICE SETTINGS will appear on the display.  Release the ENTER and 0 keys.  Press the 8 key.  The message MEASUREMENTS will display.  Use the SCROLL key to select battery voltage.  Verify the battery voltage is between 6 - 7 VDC.  If the battery voltage is lower than 6.2 VDC, either the battery needs recharged or replaced.
