Error 3 on Trotter 3300 Climber

Probable Cause

An error 3 on the Trotter 3300 climber occurs after the actual speed of the motor differs more than 4 ft./min. from the set speed. The MCB automatically tries to correct this problem. A timer is started when this state occurs and if the actual speed is not brought to within 2 ft./min. within the 20 second timer, the error 3 is displayed. The possible causes for an error 3:
a) Faulty MCB
b)Torque boost pot is out of adjustment

Corrective Action

a) Verify if the error occurs with users of all sizes and if so, replace the MCB.  If not, adjust the torque boost pot on the MCB to the minimum setting and then advance the pot 1/4 rotation (treating the pointer of the pot like an hour hand on a clock, 1/4 rotation is 3 hours ahead of minimum setting).  After adjusting torque boost pot, and error still occurs, adjust torque boost pot to 4 hours ahead of minimum and if error still occurs, replace the MCB.
